Just wondered if such is available? I know there are charities that help parents of young children but I can't seem to find any for adults.(patient is 18)
A friends brother was critically injured during a swimming accident and his mother has had to give up work and move to Dublin from Co.clare to be with him. She is finding it really difficult to find accommodation near to the mater hospital, and obviously because she can't work, finances are going to become a strain very quickly. They are going to be at least a year up there with the huge journey they face together.

Is there any organisation/ government help available for people in this situation? Or could anyone point me in the direction of affordable rent close to the mater?
    Any suggestions would be appreciated,

    Many thanks

    Dreadful situation.

Will the hospital not know? She cannot be the only one in that terrible situation. I know Joe Duffy has featured at least one similar case. People came forward then with accommodation.

The Mater has some accommodation on site for family members in certain situations. Thinks its via the Mater foundation

It only happened last week so everything is up in a bit of a tizzy. She did ask the hospital as far as far as I know but didn't get much of a reaction.
She's staying in a hotel atm, but looking at hostels for obvious cost reasons, I just can't imagine living in a hostel for over a year!
