I bought a mazda 6 from these guys 7 months ago. When I was purchasing it, they had it hooked up in de garage and said it was getting a service. They gave me a 3 month warranty which covered engine and gearbox. Well 6 months later and 3 months after warranty has run out, my car suddenly stopped as I was driving on the motor way. Oil light came on followed by battery light. Got towed to my house, had a local mechanic look at it. He did an oil change and over 4 litres came out of it with filings in it even tho the oil light came on, he said the filters where probably never changed and that they where seriously blocked and car was starving itself for oil because of this. Brand new battery gone in and Car still didn't work. On further inspection, it turns out I need a new engine as a bearing is gone. 4k to get this fixed by Mazda. Anyone have an ideas for a cheaper way to get this fixed?

so hope this helps for others thinking of buying from these..

Pretty much what's expected by a Diesel Mazda, nothing to do with whatever dealer you bought it from.

Mazda 6 diesel engines are notorious for this problem and its more or less expected to happen with them at this stage. Even the new model M6 diesel engines have DPF problems which can cause similar problems. Either cut your losses, sell the car for what you can get for it in parts or pay for an engine rebuild. Do not buy an engine from a crashed car as you will most likely have the same thing happen again.

If it were me I'd cut my losses and buy something else (preferably petrol if your not doing big mileage)
