I have silage ground that i could not graze out fully last backend due to bad weather. I just bought a tine harrow to pull out dead grass and oversowe grass later on. I harrowed out the grazing ground today. Great job and i plan on doing the silage ground tomorrow. Just wanted to get peoples opinion on this. I know i will pull up a fair bit of dead grass, but is this a good idea on silage ground. Will i be contaminating my silage. If i dont i know i wont have as good of yield as i should as it it fairly caked and bet into the ground which will inhibit the volume of grass growth. If we ever get any. Any opinion is welcome

It got slurry three weeks ago. They wouldn’t touch it.

Hard to call. If there's a good bit of cover on it you'll choke the harrow. Your heart will be broke clearing it

I will never clear it. I was hoping it would wilt away, that would be the ideal scenario. I should have held off with slurry. The tank was full and the dry weather came so i took my chance now i have a combination of dead grad bet into the ground and a cake of slurry.

You will have to cut it or graze it before the harrow I'm afraid
