Sucker cull cow rearing calves

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Decided to cull two cows after they calved because I'm keeping the daughters for replacements and tight on numbers. Gave them two weeks doing twice a day feedings. Culled one cow, made 1200 but the calf will not suck blue feeder even after 48 hrs. Thinking I will keep the other cow in a pen and let the two calves to her twice a day for the next 7 weeks before I wean and send her to the factory. What feeding should I feed her, need protein for milk but energy to finish her? Hex 7 yr old cow, 650 kg.

Quit the hardship sell the calves and hang the cow, if they are any way decent they’ll make more money than you’ll make on them all year

    Probably the right advice.
The time could be well spent at anything else than this torture as the other cow won’t want that calf sucking her.

Feeding dairy bull calves at the moment aswell so it's no hassle at all, while they are drinking i let the cow into an adjoining crush and the two heifers drink away no issues. 10 minutes max. Will be letting them to her once a day from next week on. Calves are both very high 5 star replacemets so the effort is worth it. Purely hobby farmer, looking to breed the best I can with the small numbers I have.

We have done similar-after a couple of days restrained I just leave them in a yard with a bucket of nuts for the cow and the two calves will drink away!! We usually leave them off in a small paddock after a couple of days of this and then off to the rest of the herd. I wouldn't be too quick at pulling them away from her unless you have to!
