Attic tank not filling.

The water was shutoff today as some work being carried out on the mains in the local area.

Mains pressure has returned but limited.

Now my main tank is not filling up, I removed the ballcock completely to see if sediment had blocked it. No flow even with the ballcock removed.

    My thinking is an airlock.

From the mains shutoff under the sink the water flows through a softener and then the to attic tank.

    Any ideas?

I'm going to start pulling at the softener.

with the mains pressure back on and limited ,its sounds like they dont have it set on full pressure.there is probably not enough pressure to bring water to the attic tank

Would there be enough restriction in the softener to hold the limited pressure off?

If I bypassed the softener I wonder.

Job for tomorrow, I'm off to bed
