Shower tripping the switch

Our shower is tripping the fuse board and I have no idea why.
I have replaced the shower and the pull cord and it still trips.
but it barely tripped ( maybe twice) over the winter.
Could be a coincidence but now that it's warming up. It has started to trip again.

I'm having difficulty finding a sparky for such a small job.
The trip switch is twice the size of any other switch on the board.

A bit more information required. What type of shower and what type of trip switch at the board?

Random tripping is usually a faulty or under sized trip switch. Usually if it is the shower or pull cord it will trip instantly and everytime.

Legally the homeowner can't replace a shower or trip switch.

I suggest getting a registered electrical contractor in to replace the trip switch. He'll test the entire installation from fuseboad to shower and issue a safety certificate.

    Thank you for the replies.

The shower is a Triton T90, when we moved in 10 months ago it was a Mira (something or other).
Got the new Triton installed, and the issue persists, so it is unlikely that both showers had the same fault.

Only trips after the shower has been running for a good few minutes, like if I have a shower shorty after my wife.
Did not trip at all during the cold months.

I'm having difficulty getting an electrical contractor to look at the issue.

You might still have a 32amp trip switch when it needs a 40amp rcbo. Either that or the the trip switch is faulty

In the electrical forum you can ask for an electrician in your area so long as they reply by pm. Safety Ireland /reci have a list of all registered electricians on their website.

Incase anyone else has this issue, the rcb chnaged from a 32amp to a 45 amp resolved the issue.
