    1. How do I apply for a new water or sewer connection?

There are two phases to the new connection process.

The first is the Pre-Connection enquiry. This will allow us to determine the feasibility of the connection before you finalise the design of your development or seek planning permission.

The earlier that you engage with us, the more likely it is that we will be in a position to meet your timelines. You are strongly advised to contact Irish Water with a pre-connection enquiry as early as possible in the project. Initial contact can be made before any application for planning permission has been made to the relevant Local Authority.

The second phase is the New Connection Application. When you are ready to apply to Irish Water for a connection, please complete and submit a connection application form to us. Irish Water will assess your application and calculate a cost for the connection.

You can find out more here.

Alternatively, you can click here to start your connection process

    2. Why haven’t I received my refund?

    3. There is flooding on my property, which I think is due to a mains leak. What should I do?

    4. When will Irish Water introduce excessive use charges for domestic properties?

Excess use charges will be approved by the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) and will not commence until 1st January 2019 at the earliest. Bills for excess use charges will not be issued until 1st July 2019 at the earliest.

Further amendments to the Water Charges Plan will be required at a later date upon the completion of the CRU’s Connection Charging Policy consultation (CRU/18/001) and following the determination of the rules and processes underpinning excess use charges by the Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government, the CRU and Irish Water.

You can find out more about the updated Water Charges Plan here.

    5. How can I report a leak from my meter?

If you have noticed a leak from your meter, feel free to contact us on 1850 278 278 or send a PM with your name, address & contact number, and we will be happy to look into this for you.
