The real reason they killed Gaddafi

Muammar Gaddafi’s plan was to introduce a gold-backed currency called the gold dinar which he hoped African and Muslim nations would adopt. He felt it could rival the euro and the dollar, and rightly so too.

If Qaddafi had succeeded, the United States of America and Europe would have been forced to buy oil and minerals in the gold backed currency thus tipping the scales. This was a horror the West dared not experience and so a high level propaganda campaign was launched against him in Libya and in the USA and Europe leading up to the war.

And he was the only man in the whole African and Middle Easten region capable of implementing this idea?

€100 to anyone who can predict what his next thread will be.

We should defend our way of life to an extent that any attempt on it is crushed, so that any adversary will never make such an attempt in the future.

Right, it all makes sense now, because Gaddaffi with his enormous gold reserves about the size of Greece's, was going to bind together the Arab world (which despised him) and the African world (who tolerated his ravings for cash) and this was going to be a simple process that would be knocked up overnight.

I'm not sure I have the energy tonight dear, can we do it tomorrow?

Gaddafi was thought very highly of in Africa despite what the Western media would have you believe.

Muammar Gaddafi was the Ordnance Quartermaster of the Provos for about 10 years, presumably the OP approved of that as well.

Do you want to me to be outraged if what your are saying is true?

I mean, we live in the "the West" so benefit from his removal.

Do you really want your own standard of living to decrease substantially to allow Africans and the Middle East to increase their standard of living?

Or maybe get serious about not swallowing the propaganda churned out by the UK and US media.

Removing Gaddafi was a colossal mistake

I just want people not to believe that he was killed because of the great US humanitarians.

At the height of the propaganda Western media even claimed he had a sex dungeon where he kept hundreds of teenage girls and boys which he raped regularly

Yes if you remember correctly that was what was happening to our country for hundreds of years.

And only this past week Nicolas Sarkozy was charged with corruption and the misappropriation of Libyan public funds.

He received 50 million in financing from Gaddafi for his election and then returned the favour by bombing Libya.

    Odious.

So we’re all agreed then. The removal of Ghadaffi was the best thing ever, and the US or the West has the right to overthrow any dictator it doesn’t like. Also the result of this overthrow was brilliant and had no destabilising effect on the Mediterranean or Italy or Europe. Down with Putinbots.

You don't. But then don't wade in like you know all if you don't want to check anything.

The poster hadn't made 10 posts in the thread, so that might have been an indication that it wasn't just about this one thread.

Considering Libya was the richest and most stable country in Africa, he was certainly the best positioned to spearhead the concept. The maintenance of the dollar as the oil trading currency is paramount to keeping the US economy from tanking under the weight of their debt. That/'s why Saddam Hussein had to die as well since he was going to trade oil in Euros.
