Just a heads up in case anyone needs to order anything on zooplus any time soon - I ordered some bits and pieces from zooplus.ie on Saturday and got a mail back to say they have a high number of orders so there's a delay in dispatching. It was just some treats etc for my friends dog - luckily it wasn't food or anything urgent!

Thanks for that you've just reminded me to order dog food!

:( I had ordered some treats etc for my friend's dog... put the dogs name on it and her OH's number so he'd get the delivery text. Now my mischief is delayed :(

EDIT - It was just dispatched lol! :D

I got the email but got a dispatch notice the same afternoon so wouldn't worry too much

In the past few months, I've had two of these notices from Zooplus, and in both cases, the delay was a few hours... Nothing more! Gotta love that German efficiency :D

Mine was 2 days to be fair! I hope they didn't take anything out - they've done that a few times when I've added stuff from the rewards shop. Oh and my loyalty discount seems to have run out  :(

This doesn't mean anything. Happens every time I order on Saturday, they're telling you it didn't ship on the Sunday, then it ships on the Monday :)

:o It must be a new thing - i’ve never gotten it all the years I’ve ordered! I’ve actually forgotten to order some bits for my own dogs since I was concentrating on getting stuff for my friend’s lol! :p

Is there always such a major difference between delivery time for DHL vs DPD? I joined up to zooplus last year and the first few times I went with DHL (i.e. An Post) which always took 2 weeks. Lately I've switched over to DPD and the longest it's taken is 6 days - think I'll stick with them from now on!

Yep there always has been for me - I work 2 mins from a big DPD depot here in Dublin so the deliveries are like clockwork! The last time I had to go DHL/An Post it took a week longer than normal and the box was open when it got here. Luckily it was just Bailey's new posh bed inside so nothing was lost!

I live in the butt-end of nowhere, but I regularly get my zooplus orders by Thursday when I order on Sunday, and that's with DPD.
@ tk123, these delayed despatch emails seem to be quite recent alright. First one I got was in January this year. I've had another since. I must be ordering from zooplus about 10+ years!

I get far better delivery with dhl (or upc but i dont think zooplus have them as an option).

I get regular deliveries for both personal and work and dpd is hands-down the worst option in my location. I get regular "not at home" or "undeliverable" msgs when I'm sitting round waiting for them. Or the great msgs asking for my eircode when its printed on the package.

Depends on the driver/depot I think.

This 100%. When it was GLS it was hit and miss - if I got it sent to my house there was bound to be a delay but DPD just seem way better for where I am in Dublin... Now I hope thats the case for Midelton because I went with DPD for my friend's delivery just for the fact they'd get the text with the hour window!

I'm ordering on zooplus since 2007  Still sad about my loyalty discount expiring :(

I ordered a large consignment of dog food for a fosterer in West Cork on Sunday night. Just got an email that DPD will be delivering it this morning! So, from ordering to doorstep in about 60 hours. Can't ask for better than that :o

No way! Mine is still in transit to the UK  Although sometimes that happens and it goes from uk -> out for delivery the next day

My dog and cat food arrived on Monday in 2 boxes and 4 boxes Tuesday. 132kg total order lol

My zooplus orders always take around 2 weeks - shocked to see people getting theirs in 60 hours!
Do you order from the Irish site or a different one?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,747 ✭✭✭pawrick

Typically my orders from the german site take 5 working days to get to me if I use the courier which uses an post for the Irish leg of the delivery.

My last two orders however had problems. One box never arrived after getting to the UK via a different route to the other 3 boxes ordered at the same time and the next delivery took the best part of 3 weeks but maybe that had something to do with the snow creating a backlog.

btw I've been using this discount on the german site for over a year i think and it still works sammelbesteller for 2% extra off. handy if you also get the member discount for a little extra off.

If your loyalty discount is expiring - email them. The option isn’t always there to renew but the last time mine went I emailed and asked could I get it back and they sent me the link to renew it :)

OOOOOH I'll try that! Thanks! I had 8%!

How are you getting 8%? I have the 3 years 5% deal and use stockupandsave to get a further 2%

I spend 400 euro a month for the last 3 years so any additional discount would be nice.

Also always use DPD from the .ie site and delivery takes less than 5 working days

I renewed it on .de last time but they only offer it to certain countries now! They got back to me and are giving me 5% :D beggars can’t be choosers lol

Ah, I thought you were still getting 8% :)

Still the cheapest place to buy animal stuff, so don't mind..

I spend over €300 a month with them, I’m finding with the exchange rate the past 6 months that the co.uk site is cheaper than the German one. ðŸ˜႒
It normally takes 4 working days to arrive via DPD.

use a revolut card to change euro to sterling for the best exchange rate and then use it to buy on the uk site.

boo - the tracking STILL hasn't updated from in transit @ Best NL.. Mailed them to see if they can help with tracking.

...They just gave me a canned response telling me what the tracking said :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,062 ✭✭✭✭tk123

OK so just to update.. this has become a PITA..

You can't get the savings plan on the Irish site anymore - once it runs out you can't renew.

They had me open a new account on .co.uk where I should get prompted and it didn't happen.. then they told me to try again and send screenshots of before and after.. so I've ordered and paid and didn't get my savings plan! I'm a customer 11 years so I want my plan!

In happier news Rebel got his parcel :D

Dpd lost my parcel a few weeks ago, in fairness to zooplus they offered a refund or replacement which arrived on time but taped up again by dpd. The last parcel delivered by dpd arrived so badly damaged it's contents were spread all over my porch. They seemed to be going good for a few years but recently the parcels are so badly I'm actually shocked nothing is missing or unusable. I'd go back to trying DHL/an post again but they've started charging for this

That's really strange with your DPD Zapperzy. I nearly use it all the time for cattle stuff along with zooplus every month or so and none of my parcels have ever been damaged at all! Not even a corner knocked out of shape & i even had a laptop delivered a little over a week ago. I wonder if it's just your driver flinging them all in if he has a big area to cover?
(Me being in Leitrim we're not exactly over populated or inundated with parcels every day)

I've had the odd damaged box from Zooplus in the 8 years we've been shopping with them - always had a refund or replacement quickly and they took it up with DPD. Never had other parcels damaged via DPD and we would get a lot of deliveries (5-8 a month via Parcel Wizard)

The photo below is what was landed on my porch back in January. It's possible the drivers in my area are flinging them around the place as it's gotten worse since I moved house. At least the last parcel had just been re-taped by dpd as the original tape had bust open.

Jesus!! That's bad alright. I went to grab it by the plastic strap as it was handed to me & it snapped straight away which means they were using the box itself to carry en route.

Really seems to depend on the driver, I've had three drivers in last few years, one was awful, left parcels in the rain, chucked one over the gate which split open.
Current one is quite good, some of the packages have been poorly packed lately though, couple of the boxes were just pieces of cardboard wrapped around items, and they came taped up, or in one case the driver had them in a plastic box and asked to check order as they got it in the box, it broke in transit.
