DA arrears?

I was in hospital in August.
I applied for Disability Allowance at end of August upon discharge and gave it to the hospital social worker to get the medic to complete it and send off. They said they would do same.

In November, I had no correspondence back and queried why.
The DEASP said they had no record of my application. I then found out that the social worker had held on to it! it was sent to my GP with the original date crossed out and sent off.
The DA is approved but only backdated to November.

I already pointed out the crossed out date + medical records showed August hospital dates.

Is there any chance of getting it backdated further to August? and how do I go about doing same?

You should write a letter to DA telling them exactly what happened.
If you could get a letter from your Social worker confirming this then that should work.
You should go to your local Citizens Information Centre and ask them to help you with the letter .

I'm not sure if the social worker would admit to their negligence. Plus the DEASP stated that the claim will only be approved from date of application.
