No medical advice can be given, other experiences welcome

Had a puncture myself many moons ago, took a few weeks to feel right after, some baths and massage helped ease the muscles that had tensed up because of the uncomfortableness of the procedure

Seem strange to me that something thats done in a few minutes can leave someone feeling so unwell after.I have vertigo since the procedure and find that it has actually intensified the migraine that I had been getting prior to the procedure.hopefully it will pass soon

I was very sick after mine. Horrendous headaches, sweats and nausea. I was told it would pass, it did 9 days later. Drink plenty of water and sleep

Had a lumbar puncture when I was being investigated for MS. Had an absolutely horrendous headache afterwards, lasted a week before I gave in and went to A&E in agony. They said it was a dural tap and I had to get blood taken out of my arm and they injected it back into the same site as the original puncture, so essentially it was a blood patch. Worked almost immediately!

It's a bastard. Especially if you do not lie down flat on your back for a good while afterwards. I know docs now have changed their view on this but from experience the longer you lie the less the headaches. There may still be a bit of a leak as the body has not repaired the incision point.

Coca cola helps too with the headache for some reason maby all the concentrated sugar making the blood more gooey and sticky, I don't normally drink it so maby had a better effect.

There can be a weakness in the spine at that point so careful bending as you could rip open the wound again as they are imo very slow to heal.

I find Paracetamol is very good for boney pain, and I took took diaphene 100 (slow release) for inflammation but need to eat with these.

Be pleased you didn't get intrathecal treatment after the lp, as those headaches are monumentous.
