    Some friendships phase out over time. I'm sure there are plenty of scenarios where people out grow each other.

    You had me until you suggested that people grow out of computer games!!!! How dare you!

    Seriously though, friendships change over time. Marriage, kids, careers etc change a person. You are rarely the same person at 20 you are at 40. True friendships can bridge the game if they are worth it. Yours sounds like it isn't.
