No summer intership secured (got a 2.2). Advice greatly appreciated?

Hi I recently graduated with a 2.2 law degree.
I was very upset with this. I missed out on a 2.1 by a nose hair, ultimately one bad equity exam which I scraped a pass in put my average down while my other results were solid.

I don't have any one to blame but myself for my poor performance on the day, although I had a tough year with a bereavement of a close friend before the academic year and bouts of depression I really should have given more attention to my weakest subject!

Last month I applied for summer internships with most of the major firms. I failed to secure an interview with a single one!, I feel like I have a good well rounded application but it got binned as soon as they saw the Desmond!

It's concerning seeing my girlfriend and my classmates securing summer internships and beginning the standard route to a career in law while I get left behind.

Is there an alternative route to gaining legal experience than the typical -summer internship - FE1S-traineeship- Blackhall (fees covered by traineeship)
Is there a way I can gain legal experience another way which can lead to a traineeship?

Would doing a post grad in Law and focusing hard on getting a high 2.1 or first remove the stain of the 2.2 undergrad?

I'm seriously considering going down the barrister route with Kings Inn as I understand the 2.2 is less of a barrier. However I am not as familiar with the "ins and outs" here and am concerned about the job security? Although I honestly think I would have more of an aptitude towards being a barrister then a solicitor.

Any help or reassurance would be great appreciated.
