I wonder can anyone help with this..
An engine light came on on my 05 polo the other day and the car wouldnt start. I knocked it off and back on and it started, and the light went. But while i was driving yesterday it came on again. But again once in turned the car off and back on it went.. I looked at the manual and it said it was an exhaust issue and that if i dont get it looked at soon it will affect the catalytic converter. There is no noise coming from the car but i do find its not ticking over as smoothly as it should be. Could this be anything to do with the cold temperatures were having or is this an actual fault i should get looked at?
    Tia

Vw are notorious for engine management lights. My girlfriend had a lupo for 4 years with the light on. When I plugged in the diagnostic reader it said exhaust sensor also. I left it and actually forgot about it until the nct which I thought it would fail on because of emissions if there was a sensor gone in the exhaust but it didn't. To cut a long story short the sensor was never changed and the car never gave any problems for the 4 years of ownership.

I’d be getting the code read, could just be a coil pack, which when you only have 3 cylinders to start with is a major problem when one isn’t working (it’s always serious I suppose)
