Circulation Pump Query

    Hi All.

I have a query regarding what setting a Tuscon - A 6 Meter Head should be set at?

Basically a few months ago my oil tank ran out of oil and I was messing with the settings on the pump. Since I refilled the oil tank I have only got a few weeks out of the fill yet the central heating has not been on as much in the last few weeks.

The pump is attached to a firebird oil burner and heats 19 radiators in a two storey house

Any help greatly appreciated as this mistake is proving expensive!
    Thanks
    Sirus

on the control box of the pump,do you have a green button with a white square in the middle.if so press this and set the pump to auto.A pump only circulated the water. Its not the reason your using too much oil.your boiler probably needs a service

    Hi Augusta,

Yes there is an auto option on it. I will set it to auto so.

In relation to the oil consumption. Funny thing is I got it serviced a few weeks ago as when it ran out of oil it got air locked.

Not sure what is causing this so....

Did you get a flue gas analysis printout after the service. Also if its the older type firebird boiler.its not very efficient

No I didn't get anything. It was just a local plumber I got to service the boiler.

What do all the other settings mean on the pump?

    Thanks
    Sirus

The pump will run fine on auto..i dont go too deep into all the settings. If you get a service done with flue gas analysis and printout , it will make the boiler more efficient.Without the flue gas analysis its only guesswork
