Stanley Range Oven issue

    Hi

I have an old Stanley range Super 90. I got it off a friend of mine it was just sitting in his shed. Heats the rads fine cook top heats up fine but the oven rarely gets above 150. No mater how much fuel I put into it.

Their must be a problem with the Oven itself. It's impossible to cook bread in and it must be just I can get the oven hot enough.

Any ideas. Anything I can do to increase the temp. The oven is quite rusty inside. I scrapped most of the rust off before I used it.

I regularly clean it and scrape out all the soot. It's solid fuel and I've tried wood, coal and the nuggets.

Some ranges need you to add in the clip in heat shields into the firebox to increase the temperature of the hot air rising from the fire as usually this is all absorbed by the wraparound heat exchanger.
We had an old range and this is what we needed to do to get a higher temperature in the oven, the hot water was much cooler as a result of fitting them.

Thanks for your quick response. Where did you get the clip in heat shields

They were supplied with the range, otherwise try any hardware store that sells Stanley ranges.
