Some advice need, We have an adult daughter with learning difficulties living at home, its got to a stage where she needs her own space within the house.
Im thinking of building a room onto her bed room basically a mirror image of the bedroom and having a walkthrough entrance from one room to the other, a new sitting room area for her through to a bedroom.
This would basically be added onto a previous extension done to the house prior to us owning it.
Size 3mx4m, and would not be any higher or wider than the existing room

    where do I start ,
    what is the procedure
    do I require planning permission
Is there any form of grants available ?

All advice and help would be greatly appreciated

Is it to the side, rear or front?
What’s the size of previous extensions?

Based on the info provided I’d say planning is required. You may be able to apply for a home adaptation grant from your local council.

Get an agent on the ground to assess and advise.

to the rear of house, added on to the existing extension, it wont be any higher or wider than what's there now.
Previous extension 6mx6m add on would be 3mx4m

When you say agent, who do you mean ?

    Planning required.
Agent = architect, engineer, surveyor, planning consultant etc
