Lucky probably isn't the word I'd use.

I thought this was old news:confused:

I know I've read about it ages ago.

Not very nice to drag Michael Ring into this. What his brother does has nothing to do with him.

It does if his position was part of the reason the scumbag isn't seeing jail time for a sexual assault of the predatory nature of that described in the article.

It might have more to do with the incompetency of Irish courts than who his brother is. Every day there are scumbags who aren't related to ministers getting away with violent crimes.

Absolutely. I wouldn't be so sure that his brother's job contributed to the suspended sentence.

And what is so different, from this case to many before it, that makes you assert there was any influence based on who his brother is?

    That reads very badly indeed.

Imagine that was your own sis working in the shop!

You have evidence that a Minister has broken the separation of powers and perverted the course of Justice?

Why would Michael Rings position have any influence?

I never even heard of him. Who is he?

Mayo TD. I only know of him as I am in his area. A Minister also.

Thanks. I did hear of most politicians but his name never rang a bell.

So he returns to his car, thinks things through and decides that yes he does want to carry out this course of action. The rape is only prevented because another customer disturbs him and as he's leaving he tells her “Well, you aren’t shy.”

And that equals a suspend sentence? Hopefully something very bad catches up to him.

A liar, and a horrible individual who should be castrated and put behind bars for life. Joke of a decision

    Should it be hush hush?

The convicted given anonymity because of who is brother is?

The story published, convicted named, but media not mention who he is?

I don't believe anyone's insinuating that Michael Ring has anything to do with it, but not sure it's a reasonable suggestion that media fail to mention who the convicted actually is/ who his brother is?

The sh1tstorm that would follow of the story was attempted to be buried would be much worse.

    Nicely done

Thread title should have no reference to Michael ring and every reference to the fact the bollix only got a suspended sentence. What a sleazebag. The fact it was a 17 year old he did it to just adds to its need for jail time.

Old saying; you can choose your friends but not your family. Heartbreaking and embarrassing for a local TD with a good reputation in his area.

Who said that the story shouldn't be reported on?
