Return of tax leaving the country ... open to return

So, the moment has arrived, the rental market is kicking me out.

I think that I've got some understanding of the P21 and how does it work, but there is something else. I don't want to close this door, most of the jobs in my sector and many friends are here, the option of returning will be there for me. So, my questions are:
    - How much time should I be out of the country after requesting this tax return? I only can find that they talk about the next taxation year (I assume that this year if I leave before 180 days), but I've heard something about 4 years and I can't find any source about it.
    - What happens if, before this period expires, I want to come back and work again here? It would be enough if I return the money or there is no way to come back in this time?

I don't know if this is important for the tax system, but I'm not Irish citizen. I'm Spanish national.

If you leave the country sometime in this tax year then you can apply to have a portion of your PAYE tax and USC repaid four weeks after you have left your job. The application form for this is called a P50. LINK You can apply for a second tax refund, four weeks later and so on every 4 weeks, until you have received all of your tax and USC back.

If you want to come back to work in Ireland again during this tax year then you won't have to repay any tax, because the refunds that you get are only based on the year to date, not to the end of the calendar year.

The P21 (balancing statement) would only be relevant if you were looking for a tax and usc refund for any of the past four years. If you believe that you are due a tax refund for any of these years, you can still go ahead and ask for one.
