Importing a car from UK and how to pay for it?

    Hi,

I'm looking at buying a car in Scotland and driving it back to Donegal.

My problem is I haven't been over to inspect the car, and want to avoid travelling twice. I want to travel to Glasgow, view the car, pay for it there and then, and drive home.

    How do I do this?

The car is around £10k. The dealer will only accept cash up to £5k. A cheque or draft will have to clear, and to make matters worse I was planning to collect it on Good Friday which is a bank holiday in Scotland.

Any solutions? How do I travel over, inspect, test-drive the car, pay for it and leave on the same day?
