    Hi everyone,
I'm newly engaged and my Fiance (:)) and I are starting to look at venues for the big day. We are living in London and spending some time over Easter visiting various places. As we are further away it's a little tricker. I'm just wondering can anyone tell me their thoughts on the following locations:
    • Johnstown Estate
    • Finnstowncastle
    • Dunboyne Castle
    • Mount Falcon
    • Cliff at Lyons
    • Barberstown
Also any other recommendations similar to those I'd be keen to hear about them :)

    Rathsallagh House.

Our guests are mostly traveling from the West and for that reason, it's a little too far for people to travel on the day. So that's why we're trying to keep it on the M4.
I've heard Rathsallagh is top notch, and it would be perfect otherwise.

Wasn't mad on the Cliff at Lyons. Food was fantastic but the split level layout didn't work. Plus I know the couple found the venue really difficult to deal with and there were other couples allowed to view the venue on the day of the wedding as guests were arriving for the ceremony which caused some hassle.

Why not pick something over that side of the country? I haven't been at this place, but have been to 2 in their group.

Depending on the numbers, Balyna House in Moyvalley is amazing. I'm biased as I got married there in July but it really was just the perfect venue. The house is for weddings of 100 or less and the hotel caters for bigger numbers. We had a humanist ceremony on site, they have a beautiful stone building for this or you can have the ceremony in Balyna House too.

Any questions feel free to PM me :)

    Enjoy the planning!!

We booked Mount Falcon for summer 2019. We were really pleased with our experience with their wedding coordinator. They do require the whole hotel (32 rooms) to be booked.

I’ve been to two weddings at cliff at Lyons and it’s a terrible venue for the guests as some are up top and can’t even see the bride and groom . Dunboyne castle is great .

Barberstown Castle is fab. As is Palmerstown House, Carton House and the K Club. All within a few miles of each other and the M4.

Mt Falcon for the other side of the country is fab as well. Stunning grounds there too for pics!
