I have accepted a new job and finished old role Friday last.
    Starting new job mid April.
Can my partner legally apply for this payment as our combined income for the next few weeks will be under the thresholds.
Even though I have a new job acquired our income at point of application will meet required level for the payment.

Anyone can apply for anything as long as they answer all of the questions in the application form honestly. Whether or not they will get what they applied for is another thing altogether!

However, if, on the date of application, she's eligible for FIS (which now has the new name "working family payment" presumably to pander to the snowflakes!) then of course she can apply.

The fact that you think you have a job in a month's time is neither here nor there - the job could fall through.

Bear in mind though that the declaration that she signs includes the words: "I undertake to immediately advise the Department of any change in my circumstances which may affect my continued entitlement."

If she doesn't do that when circumstances change, then she'll be in trouble!

FIS is awarded for 1 year based on the information provided.
It doesn’t matter if your circumstances improve at all during the 12 months, your FIS remains the same.
If you have another baby it goes up.
If you’re out sick for > 6 weeks or your hours drop below 19 then your FIS stops but apart from that it stays the same.

What is the turnaround time on renewals?

Can anyone advise me regarding working family payment. My dh is self employed. I have sent them his notice of assessment from revenue but they won’t accept that even though they accepted it last time. They want a profit and loss account and drawings for last year. Does anyone know if an accountant needs to do a p&l a/c or can we do it ourselves?
