White noise machine

Has anybody ever used a white noise machine to block out neighbours talking? I've been told that they work, but I'm sceptical.

I use my fan heater on cool setting to block out noise from outside when I sleep-in. It works too well to be honest, it becomes hard to sleep without it.

I too use a simple desktop fan, have done for years and I think it works very well.

A good pair of Ear Defenders and you'll hear nothing.
Also turn your tv and stereo to top volume during hours when they sleep.
This will eventually bring them to the negotiation table.

I think this person is talking to themselves, they're not amenable to requests. Off the reservation kind of thing.

When they speak in English I can basically hear the contents of their life, I don't think noisy people take this into consideration though.

I run a humidifier down in one of the rooms. The fan does block out some noise.

There's various long white noise youtube videos u can use to test the thoery, I like the ones that are more like the warm TV static from way back.

I'm for giving them a dose of medicine though, preferably Drum and Base.

I'm at the stage where I have to go stay in other people's houses now and then for fear that I'll tear the door off the hinges and batter them with the door.
