You and your 181, GPS etc, I'm stuck here in a 31yr old David brown that's currently overheating (keeping the revs to 1600 jsut about ok), no radio, bog standard wagtail etc ha. Happy out in it, but I think I'll call the contractor for the silage ground fert ha.

Not putting anything out bar FYM and a bit of slurry till weather and temps play ball - the stuff is expensive enough without wasting most of it!!:(

Won't be wasted. I spread land today that hadn't been spread this year at all. In between 2 fields that had already got urea in Jan. The colour difference was very noticeable

Might be the case on the best land - but risk of poaching and poor utilization is too great my end

Didn't price yet as in work. Off next week so will inquire. The weather not looking good. Was thinking of 3cwt of 18 6 12 for silage. N seems dear and making bales anyway.

I think it's a year where it won't be spared.
What did you give for the 18's in the end?

    Advice needed.
Got 4.5 bags / acre 18-6-12 in the silage ground over two weeks ago now.
I’m happy enough with the N spread as it’s old meadow land and wouldn’t justify any more nitrogen.
However I intended to top up the P&K with a further bag of 0-7-30 to boost growth and quality.
Between one thing and another I still haven’t got around to putting it out. Weather, hurt leg, too much to get done etc.
Is there any reason NOT to spread it this week from quality of crop point of view?? That is, could it interfere negatively with preservation of the bales?
I think not, but am unsure.
    Appreciate some pointers here!
    Thanks.

    WR

Nothing out yet. Soil tests say leifi boost over it all. €315 and a little less as I can pay at the gate.

    19 0 15 ? I'd spread some p myself. There probably isn't much of a difference in price .

That's what it is. Almost the same.
