Basic Simple Stupid qUESTION

    Hi living in apartmnt for last 2 years and now moving to house with no alarm.
    Any one got good advice what to go for.
    I will be replacing ground flooor windows and fr,ont door over next few months `when `my``budget affords.
    Can i get monitered alarm that is not connected to present doors and windows. ? PIR ? I dont know much about iit.

    Well yes you can indeed get a system with just beams / pirs, but in a residential setting they are really a very basic system.
    You could get a perimeter system installed and when you change out your existing windows and doors, just get the sensors on the old ones removed and refitted on the replacement windows.

    you could get glass break sensors, look like pirs but just detect if glass is broken instead.

    Absolutely useless though if some one leaves a window or door open or indeed if a door/ window is forced open
