Weight loss will be mostly determined by your diet, what does a typical days eating look like for you?

This, if your nutrition is off no amount of exercise can fix it.

For the exercise try starting off with a light/moderate weight (it'll feel heavy towards the end believe me), start with a 20/20 split and if that's fairly doable then move to a 30/30. For effective hiit you need to feel maxed.

What was said above is spot one start with a kettlebell you can manage weight wise but is enough of a challenge then progress up in weight as it gets more comfortable for you.

If you want a simple and straightforward workout I would recommend anything by Pavel Tsatsouline. There are also many decent youtube tutorials available. But as was said sort out the diet and start to add in a few kettlebell sessions a week to build some muscle.
