Has my electric oven gone bust or does this sound like it could be more serious

    Hi all

    Have a question I was wondering if you could help me with.

    Have a built-in oven (electric) and hob (gas)

    Went to turn on the oven this afternoon and it's dead. The fan isn't rotating and the grill isn't heating up.

    The electricity is on and the 'on' button at the front of the oven is lighting up.

    However, the lamp at the back of the oven isn't and, as mentioned, the fan isn't rotating and there is no heat.

    I don't know how old the cooker is as we just moved in, but it's not brand new.

    No fuses are tripped. It didn't stop working in the middle of cooking. I just went to turn it on and it isn't responding.

    Does this sound like just a case of the oven coming to the end of its life?

    Have you enabled a timer function by mistake?

    It does sound like the clock is not letting it run.
