The Gopro Hero 5 Black is currently available on the Spanish amazon for 237 euro, I've ordered it this week and got it delivered to Ireland in about 48 hours.

    https://www.amazon.es

(not an affiliate link, just shortened for convenience :-) )

The same ones in Ireland are 329 euro, in the recent SNOW sales they were 289 euro.

Great price really. I'm not really sure the Hero 6 adds anything of great use over the 5.

4K/60 fps, 1080p/240 fps over 4K/30 fps and 1080p/120 fps - but really, is this worth the extra 200 euro?

    Not for me anyway :D

Really considering this but are manuals spanish?

Do you mean the menus? You can change the language on the camera if it is. And as for the manuals, I doubt it comes with much in the way of physical instructions, I wouldn't worry about what language they're in as you can find them on gopro's site anyway.

Lads would this really be the ideal camera for travelling not doing any extreme sports but just generally sight seeing ( not mountain climbing/walking ). Not saying I won't be doing those but it will be rarely.

Thanks and i probably know that i'll have to pay more for essential extras, would anyone recommend what one's i should get?

I mean it's still one of the best of this style of camera out there. Top quality video and the photos are pretty good too. So you'll get some great little videos with it that's for sure.

You'll need a memory card for starters, and a fast one at that. This should do the job:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-Extreme-microSDXC-Memory-Adapter/dp/B071V61XH7/ref=sr_1_6?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1520889168&sr=1-6&keywords=sandisk+micro+sd+card+64gb

And maybe a handle to hold it with:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/MyArmor-Waterproof-Floating-Tripod-Session/dp/B01KNTP6CE/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1520889043&sr=8-3&keywords=gopro+handle

The camera is waterproof without any case which is nice!

I've put together a video that I took using this GoPro.

Myself and my kids love it!

I ordered one on Monday but delivery is expected Wednesday next. Looking forward to getting it.

@Alanstrainor thanks for posting links for accessories, I picked them up as well.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a tripod? I use a Joby Gorillapod for my mirrorless and can't fault it. I was looking at the GoPro 3 way, seems very versatile.

Something like this will mean you can screw the GoPro onto any tripod mount:

    https://www.ebay.ie/itm/2X-Tripod-Selfie-Stick-Adapter-Mount-Bracket-Stand-For-GoPro-HD-Hero-1-2-3-4-5/351756130432?hash=item51e64c9880:g:ND4AAOSwtfhYnZUH

My Gorillapod has a connection that screws to the underside of the camera and this is used as a quick release.

So I have to find an adapter to suit the gopro and the quick connector on the Gorillapod.

With that little mount I linked, any tripod screw will fit into it. So if you have a quick release plate it will work.

There's an almost unlimited amount of gopro mounts and screws that you can buy on ebay and the likes for very little money. I'd bet you could find a solution without too much effort.

+1... eBay and Aliexpress are the way to go. the ladder if you have 2-3 weeks to spare.

Set it to 1080p 60 and shoot away. There is no one setting to use, there are different settings depending on what you want/need. But that is a good start. As for photos, just set it at the highest resolution possible and let the camera figure it out.

    Enjoy.

    Perfect Cheers for that

Some you-tubers reckon 1080 at 24 or 30 fps and make sure pro tune is turned on, is their suggestion.

But GoPro quick stories recommends 1080 and 60 fps.

Unless you're working in direct Irish summer sunlight 60fps is 30 faking 60fps. Much better to run 30fps in most circumstances.

With the Session 5 being discontinued, watch for retailers selling off the last of their stock around the middle of this year.
