Hi,

Just wondering what are the best 49" android TV's you stock? It's my understanding that only Sony currently make tv's with Android built in.

    Thanks

    Hi dec,

Sony are the only manufacturer making android TVs and they are only available in the 8 series and above so you would be looking at either:

    http://www.richersounds.ie/p-202480-bravia-kd49xe8004.aspx The Sony KD49XE8004 at £629 or

    http://www.richersounds.ie/p-202503-bravia-kd49xe9005.aspx the Sony KD49XE9005 at £969

The 9 series has a direct lit backlight which gives superior contrast, colour and brightness.

Let me know what you think.

    Kind regards

    David

Thanks for the reply, looks like we may be looking at a 55" now :) Any recommendations from a Sony android side?

    Deco,

what Kenny said isn't strictly true - Philips are also making Android TV's and we have had the stunning Philips 55POS9002 in stock recently which combines the very best of OLED tech with Android:

However from a volume point of view Sony are the main Android TV manufacturer on these shores and the KD55XE8596 is the most popular 55" model:

At £879 / €999 ( euro price includes Shipping & our 6 year warranty) the 8596 is super value.

If you want the very latest and probably the best non-OLED Android TV then I'd look towards the shiny new 2018/19 Sony KD55XF9005 which is just landing now ( arriving on Friday :D) This has the latest version of Sony's Android TV now featuring Google Home and Amazon Alexa:

The shiny new KD55XF9005 is £1699 / €1999 and available to ship today.
