08 318D Engine issues

    The 318D that I currently have is a pain in the left testicle.

    It's just been serviced by bmw and had the timing chain and turbo replaced last year. She has 140km and has always had main dealer service.

    I can still hear a noise which bmw say is normal. I am looking at getting a new car but for now I need to know the bnw won't die!

    At idle to 2k revs in any gear the engine is very spluttery but is clear on higher revs. Also after a bit of town driving when you sit at 2k revs I can hear a metallic rattle and this to me sounds like chain or injectiors, all fine according to BMW

    When cold and accelerating gently she actually sounds like a tractor and you can almost feel the engine shake. The only way I can describe it is that it sounds like an old Benford dumper engine.......just awful

    Any ideas? Never buying BMW again, or at least a diesel but I need to know this won't blow up before i get another motor.

    I do have a recording of the engine sound at 2k revs which I can send on to anyone.
