Fermoy garage

Hi, due to change in work, I'm not doing motorway driving, and now having bother with dpf filter, not in a position to buy petrol car, has anyone had work done by Fermoy garage? and would you recommend them? their about half the price of another company for same work,

The first question I would ask is, why are they half the price of somebody else? Mechanics pay is a fairly fixed cost, and they are hardly getting parts at half the cost of any other professional garage. The only way for this to be possible is that either the other garage is screwing you, or this garage is cutting corners.

I've heard good reports of Fermoy Garage (yes, I know) located in the old Faber Castell industrial park.

I've heard and had good work done by them. Moved away so haven't used them in a few years.

To answer your question. They are not ripoff merchants being the simple answer. I have had the DPF removed on my wife's car by them at a very reasonable price. I can only praise them. I have no other connection with them except that of a very happy customer

No assumption at all, and made no accusation against the garage. The OP said that this garage was half the price of another. There is not much discrepancy in garage prices, as I said, because the labour cost for a qualified mechanic is fixed as is the cost of parts, within a small variation. If one garage is half the price of another for the same job, logically, one is either overpriced, or the other is underpriced. Not sure why some seem to find this so complicated.

I had some work done by them last year , made the appointment , they did the work in a few hours and were very reasonable price wise , very nice lads as well , car is running well since then .
