Im going to be undertaking this task in the next few months.

Attached is a quick mspaint mockup of what i want to do.
Has anyone tackled this job before? Any tips/tricks that will make my life easier.

Ive built some basic shelving and stud partitions in the past. Never tried stuff with doors.

We got a company to install it, they have fairly standard units and they just slot together.

Great way to hide crap that would be taking up space otherwise.

Probably more expensive than a DIY option, but you should be able to learn from what they've done.

    The ones we have:
    - made from MDF/HDF
    - soft close
    - no handles (push to open)
    - as deep as the stairs, so they come out very far
    - rails are same as a kitchen drawers
    - shoe rails in the angled ones

Humm, hadnt thought of a slide out system. I was just thinking of having shelves behind doors. But having it slide out might be a good option.

I saw one of those recently and it was recessed under the stairs by about 4 or 5 inches, and looked really good. It was not as obtrusive and didn't seem to fill the hall as much as one flush with the stairs.

You could have angled doors rather than small triangles at the top for a cleaner look. You can still have 2 drawers inside a larger door and drawers in the smaller sections.
We have the biggest section for coat hanging with shelving behind as it's pretty deep.

Drawers will work much better than doors as you'll be able to access stuff at the back far easier

As long as the runners are long enough for the drawer to come out the full way.
Looking at the pictures, those drawers in MDF/HDF will be heavy even empty so good runners required

Or you could put them on castors.

We used smartstorage.ie a couple of years ago, their solution worked for us, from memory it was around €800
