First they make a joke. Then they give bread to charity? Focking bastards.

It was a great big Brennan’s bread advert this whole snow thing.

I’m not sure if they started it or latched onto it.

I used to be a Brennan’s man but I find myself drifting towards toasting pan nowadays.

Topical meme material harnessed to generate a worthwhile and apt donation to a homeless charity... we really are scum.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 969 ✭✭✭Greybottle

That bread in the Late Late Show was donated to charity by Brennans, they said so in the show.

But Fcuk me pink, The Oirish Sun getting their facts wrong. Whatever next.

Yup it went to goo use with a homeless charity shame on the OP for a cheap dig at the late late and brennans.

If you're ashamed to be Irish you obviously need to expand your social circle.

I thought there were a lot of very good jokes about bread around. The humor like that is the best of Irish.

Yeah, I rarely eat white bread but had some yesterday and my stomach was in bits after it

I don't get the obsession with Breannan's ****ing 'bread'.

It's the worst 'bread' in the country and should be advertised as dough instead, as that's what it fcuking is.

If ever you run out of flour and want to make a pizza base: get five or six slices of Breannan's bread, pull off the crusts, little water, knead it for a bit and then just roll it out. You'll have your base.

Pizza sauce, grated cheese, whatever the fcuk else you want and then bake the fcuker!!

Was thinking that myself. Bit of a missed opportunity for Tayto and Kerrygold to get in there.

It's funny nobody had stomach issues with white bread 20 years ago. Yes it's processed but I (and vast majority of others) feel no different eating white sliced pan or whole wheat or spelt I bake at home. Brennan's is not as nice and a lot less healthy but that's about it. And a lot of stomachs get upset according to dietary trends.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,657 ✭✭✭somefeen

Ah would ya come off it. It was obviously a joke.

Ashamed to be Irish because of a joke on a crappy talk show.
Maybe you'd rather be from the neighbouring country where people were ringing the police because KFC ran out of chicken.

What's wrong with a sense of humour?

Nothing, but after 50,000 whatsapp messages, reddit, twitter, instagram and facebook bombarding you with a joke that was funny the first couple of times and now as mainstream as the late late show, I can understand why people are getting sick of it. The joke is well past its sell by date

Believe me I'm not one of those people claiming to be gluten intolerant, I'm the same with pasta if I haven't eaten it in a while

This fellow has an interesting take on bread:

What I want to know is how come so many people don't know how to make a simple loaf of soda bread especially in an emergency it's also very tasty.

Nothing but it is so boring. I have to suffer through them because of kids but I really don't know why those who don't have to watch it. It's one long Christmas school concert without your kids being in it.

I have no problem baking yeast bread, sourdough and similar but I can't make an edible soda bread. It's an incomprehensible mistery to me. :D

    Why?

If it's rubbish, why put your kids through it.
