    Hi All,

Is is ok to run the oil fired cental heating system when the mains water has an outage? My parents water went this morning and they are not sure whether they can use the heat in case it damages the system?

    Thanks.

Yes if there is water in the system and it has no leaks. If its an open system with a small header tank in the attic, you can check that there is water in it and if there is then fire away and keep an eye on it.

All this assumes that none of the heating pipes are frozen.
