The forums of future Ireland?

Going by the thread on the disgraceful looting in Tallaght, its apparent that a large angle developed in the thread based on race. In fact, it seems to be almost revolving around it.

Curious as to what shape forums (or their equivalent) in a future/alternative Ireland as ethnically diverse as, say, the United States takes.

Its easy enough to imagine that most people talking on these boards tonight are "of historical irish origin" (hope that avoids confusion). Basically, we argue and debate amongst ourselves.

But what if, say, 20% of Ireland was of African origin, 23% of muslim religion, 30% hindu, 12% blue man group etc. All different groups of people.

Would it be actually possible to discuss the likes of the looting thread in anything even resembling discussion? Would it be sheer anarchy? Would you need moderators from each group involved equally in every thread?

Would it lead to self-segregation, different groups of people setting up their own version of boards?

Its an interesting question to me because that seems to be what happened in America (which is a complete disaster of identity "everything", including politics and discussion).

Is this the only way this alternate/future reality works out?

I'd like to hope not, but I'm not exactly sure.

    What do others think?

Would be just the same as now, no difference

Would be alternative boards for each big group

    Would need ten thousand moderators

On the moderation bit there is no way to know. There are nine mods of AH right now. I am male, I know for a fact that 3 of the others are also male. The others I don't know. I do not know their religious leanings, political leanings, football teams supported(if they even support at all)

Also everything I just posted could be complete lies and unless you met me and the others or I uploaded my CV with a photo you'd not know if I'm lying or telling the truth.

I think racism and foreign policy causes terrorism. People think they are combatting terrorism by being racist this is counter productive.

I think some refugees come from countries decades In the past and need re-education this also causes racism and terrorism.

I think government policy is to feck them all into the welfare areas and let them learn the dole way of life. This will ruin the country.

I suppose After Hours will be replaced with an After Eight's forum, as long as obesity trends continue at a steady rate..

To be honest, it's one of the topics that frankly discussion is never going to help. And the government won't do anything to appreciably help integrate or actually look at objectively.

Always astounds me how we can see what a sh1t job Britain did with integrating people (compounded by the sheer numbers) and we don't choose to actually be more selective and learn of the back of their mistakes!

Immigration is a major issue though, many areas of Dublin from the last census are now minority historical Irish, nearly 20% of the population were born abroad. The government want to increase the population by 1 million by 2040.

Immigration will become a bigger topic because it will effect everyone in positive and negative ways.
