when did the moles move in?

    Lidl selling mole repeller :)

The obsession with the perfect lawn in the UK means that moles are generally not welcomed there. Of course they never did move here (the moles I mean) largely because we're not that bothered about lawns as long as it gets a cut once in a while ;) . However the same repeller also claims to
Drives away moles, voles and shrews with low-frequency sound waves and/or vibration

We do have voles and shrews - but why anyone would wish to drive those tiny things away defies logic tbh. Most people are lucky if they ever spot one never mind see a couple hanging around causing trouble ...

    Also banishes snakes, apparently.

Yep, these things work really well. I bought one the last time Lidl had them in, and I have never had a problem with either moles or snakes.

Homebase had literally buckets of mole repellent (the powdered version, not the ultrasound one) on the sales shelves a good ten years ago. Oh, how I rolled my eyes... :D Apparently it works very well for aliens and dinosaurs, too.

That's why them scum broke into Lidl in Tallaght. They are rampant with moles up there so they needed this thing.

To be fair, as a blow in to this country I had no idea there were no moles here until I read it on here once. Why not cut them a bit of slack and just inform them politely rather than ripping the piss out of them?

You obviously haven't had the invasive ones hit your area yet. Think I must have in around 20 caught in the last few months. I believe our own native shrew is under serious preasure due to these White Tooth shrews.

Its not the moles (yet), its these fancy immigrant shrews arriving in with their lipstick and tooth whitening.

Nah definitly dealing with the natives around here - tbh I have a colony that live in a old covered dung heap - I think they think of it as a handy fast food joint as there are lots of worms there for them to eat. ;)

May I ask how you catch the white toothed shrews? And what are the main difference between the species.

They'd be the native Irish ones alright.

Im no expert, but to me they act more like mice than shrews. I caught them in my shed in mouse traps. They seem to be everywhere here. They are bigger than our native shrew. Also, they are lighter in colour (grayish), and their teeth are white. Seeing one though, you wouldn't mistake it for a mouse.
