Grant boiler..

I have an old (20 years) grad euroflame kerosene indoor boiler.
The burner was changed several years ago to a Bentone.
The exhaust goes our the back of the boiler through the wall and there is a little
    wire cage over the hole.

When the original grant burner was there there was a flexi tube/pipe going from over the burner out a second hole in the wall...( holes are beside each other)

My question is does that second hole need to be left open as its not connected to anything.

The wind blowing in through that hole is freezing the place.

    Thanks for info .

This feeds clean air to the boiler to burn. If you disrupt that the burner will struggle to work correctly, possibly allowing carbon monoxide back into the house.

Don’t mess with the burner !!

there should be a flexible tube pipe fitted from the flue and connected to the right hand side of burner.if this wasnt done,i would wonder how safe is it.Maybe a burner not designed for the boiler is fitted. At the very least you should have a carbon monoxide alarm fitted.

    Thanks for the help folks.
As the really icy wind has moved on I can wait and have it looked at later.
    Tks again.
