I booked flights for a party of 8 with Aerlingus which were cancelled today our return journey was to be with Ryanair on Monday my question is should I check in with Ryanair in case the return flight will be cancelled on Monday or should I ring Ryanair and explain our situation and hopefully maybe get a voucher that we could use in the future. Any advice appreciated.

ryanair are a point to point airline. If you dont show on Monday for flight and flight is operating, you will lose your money. call them and ask...but dont hold your breath...

Check in with FR anyway. Have you got travel insurance?

Becuase for sone reason, if he is checked in, and flight is cancelled, it helps re refunds, where if he hasn't checked in and they flight is canclled, a refund may not be forthcoming.

I had a flight with Ryanair cancelled last Wednesday and I got refunded for both the outward and inward flight on Sunday, both flights were with Ryanair though!

I did notice that the price of flights next week skyrocketed in price to capitalise on the situation!

Yea, but if you had them booked on 2 different PNR's, the chances of getting the return flight refunded would be very slim.
