    Hi!

We moved into a new house and the phone watch contract is up. It sets off an alarm every 12 hours or so trying to call out we think - it doesn't seem to affect it working.

We called phone watch but the advice wasnt great, we are going to get an electrician to look at it who said he can disconnect the phone line but that it will keep calling out.

    It's a Simon XT Model.

Thanks if you can offer any advice. If you can offer any advice on it beeping every 12 hours?

    Thanks

The error you are getting is a comms fault & FTC(fail to communicate)
You are still going to get that with the phone line disconnected. You need an alarm engineer not an electrician.
Other than that power it down completely by removing the mains fuse & disconnecting the battery.

Thanks. Once the alarm engineer disables it, will it still work as a non monitored alarm? Do I need a phone watch technician to disable it or another alarm engineer? Thanks.

Well no, if you power it down and remove the battery, it is inoperable.
If you wish to have it monitored then contact one of the companies who provide this service. Only if you want Phonewatch, do you need to contact them.
If you want self monitoring then contact any of the alarm companies.

Most companies would be able to get this sorted for you or to set up monitoring for you.
