Anyone here following this new TV drama on BBC 1 at the moment? It's very good so far.

Thought today's episode was a bit silly, even by its own early standards but still watchable. As good as any daytime telly detectives though.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

I take it this is the Father Brown replacement? All perfect English country town and vintage antimacassar level intrigue?

I'd say it will be, till the new series of Father Brown comes on.

Dr. Blake Mysteries is now a bit iffy with accusations of #MeToo and Craig McLachlan, so they have a bigger hole in their daytime planning than they were expecting.

Dr. Blake Mysteries is now a bit iffy with accusations of #MeToo and Craig McLachlan, .

He was cleared of those accusations but he still doesn't appear in the final tele-movie of the series .

It is simply called The Blake Mysteries and is on BBC1 tomorrow and Friday at 1.45pm.

There are no plans for any more.

Hathaway could do with losing a bit of weight, he's a big unit.

Vic Reeves playing it straight a bonus in today's episode but it's a shame Marlow isn't in it anymore.

Today's episode was like King Lear

I only read recently that the series is full of Shakespeare references including all the characters names.

My Shakespeare knowledge wouldn't be great though.

Nice to see the statue of Lady Macbeth just before the end credits today

Joyner and Benton are decent as the leads, nice chemistry

I wish when the BBC are showing all the episodes of something, they'd start at the beginning with repeats first, then go to the new ones, rather than show the new ones, then the repeats. They do it nearly all the time, Father Brown used to get the same treatment, and Dr Blake Mysteries, ruins the run of things.

I think the first series of Shakespeare and Hathaway is better than the latest one though tbh.
