Alarm System for Rented Accommodation

    Hi,
I am looking to install an alarm system in my rented property.  Any recommendations?  Is it possible to get an alarm system that doesn't include a monthly monitoring fee? Also, if I go for a monitored alarm system, is it up to the tenants to pay the monthly monitoring fee or the landlord?
    Thanks

Tenants pay the fee and would need to pay for it to be removed at the end of the tenancy along with repairing all the cable runs unless agreed with the LL in writing.

Im reading it that the OP is the landlord?

Siemens SPC alarm, you will need a broadband connection at the property. It would allow you to remotely monitor the property if it is empty for a period of time etc...

Why are you putting an alarm system into a rental property? It's up to the tenant to insure their contents.

The LL owns and therefore insures the stove, fridge, microwave, toilet, flooring, copper piping, water rank, etc.

That is covered in the LLs house insurance, typically the contents is quite low, but thieves don't usually steal the toilets, don't see the benefit of fitting a burgler alarm to prevent this. The valuables most likely to be stolen are the tenant's, things like jewellery, tv, laptop, phones etc. The LL would not be responsible for insuring or replacing these.
