Boiler Pressure Zero, Help! Snowmaggedon! Help!

    Hi All,

To cut a long story short, I made the mistake of letting a friend of the family attempt to change my kitchen tap.

He couldn’t find the hot water valve, and so set about twisting and turning every pipe, valve and knob in the house. He never found the hot water valve, so he had to pack it in and leave.

Since then, the water pressure on my boiler has been between 0.5-0.0.

Getting the heating to turn on over the last two days has been like playing a torturous game of Russian roulette. Sometimes it fires up, most of the time it doesn’t.

Right now, the pressure is exactly 0. Of course the boiler won’t turn on, and the worst weather of the year is on it’s way/already here.

I found the filling loop in the hot press, and turned this expecting to hear water flowing, but nothing happened (I left it open for about 5 minutes).

Should I leave this open longer, or does it indicate the problem is elsewhere?

Anyway, what I’m calmly trying to say is FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE HELP ME.

    Thank you in advance,

    Rachel.

(It’s a Sime boiler, about 8 years old or thereabouts)

A pic of the filling loop and pipework around might give us a clue.
