Preventing wild cats from spraying shed outside

Got a few wildies regularly spraying my shed and while I know that's just normal behaviour for them, it's a little annoying for me as where they spray happens to be where the door handle is (it's a low shed)!

So rather than regularly having to wipe the shed down are there any sure-fire sprays that work to deter them?

Well your first problem is you appear not to have used an appropriate cleaner; cat pee leave a protein behind which you may not smell but cats do and hence they come back to mark that spot (as it smells of pee) over and over again. Your best bet would be to wash down the area few times with a biological washing powder mixed with water to remove the protein and look at an motion activated sprinkler to discourage any revisits.

    Move the handle.

I'll give it a shot thanks Nody. So they only respray the area if they smell the scent from before? Or would they just respray the shed somewhere else?

I heard of some sprays you can get that are supposedly a deterrent as they have a stronger smell?

They could spray somewhere else on the shed but in general it should not happen but cats be cats and you can never be 100% sure :)

I've seen them and it's been hit and miss depending on the cat(s) and with the Irish weather they also risk raining away quickly to dilute to acceptable levels. Hence I can't tell you what to use on that front I'm afraid as I don't have anything I can recommend.

Get Chloras bleaching agent from your local Co op
    Spray whole place
    Sorted

Disinfectant wipes seemed to do the trick (so far)

Commiserating . a tom here who apparently at one time lived here, sprays anything and everything. Even if I have washing out. If I leave a window open when I am out he comes in and sprays..

It fascinates me just how strong the odour is. Longer lasting than a bottle of Chanel :)

    Nature can be amazing.

Never smelt skunk but it surely cannot be worse than really ripe tom cat. Has to be to deter other toms!
