Where to get inner tie rod end restored?

    Failed NCT with "Inner tie rod end - Worn" and "steering rack gaiter - frayed/cut".

    Mechanic said he would have to take it to some specialist in Ballymout as you can't just buy that one piece as a replacement.

    Any idea what's the name of the place he is talking about? And any idea of cost?

    Thinking I might save a few pennies by taking it directly to the shop, if they can fit it as well.
    Car is a 03 Nissan March.

    Universal boot will fit on that car and Inner tie rod can be got from most Motor Factors. Also available on ebay etc..

    I think your March has electric power steering, is that right?
    If you cannot get sorted easily, I have a complete rack for one of those hanging in the shed.

    Yeah it's the electric version.

    Hi, if you give me 50 it's yours.
    My wife had a March Micra, and it got flooded once while she was at work.
    When she came back to it, no power steering.
    Water had been 4 inches high inside the car.
    Got the rack cause I was told the motor was fried, but it turned out there is an electronic control box the size of a cigarette pack, in the centre console ahead of the gear levers.
    It was short circuited, so never needed the rack. I'm in Cavan, so not too hard to arrange a meet up or similar.
