Importing foreign airsoft guns

So let's say I find a very cheap but good gun and it's a gun I can't get here in a shop, so I decide to order it, but it's over 1 joule as it comes from a country with looser airsoft laws.
    Is it
    A) Legal to import airsoft guns as an individual? Would it get stopped somewhere along the way?
    B) Possible to have the airsoft gun changed to under 1 joule before import?
Or just have the gun imported with joules as is and have it downgraded later in an airsoft shop?(which I really doubt)

    Thanks.

It would be stopped by customs and sent for ballistic testing and if it's over 1joule it will be destroyed and you're left out of pocket and no gun.
Some foreign retailer's do and will downgrade aegs for a cost ,
Or you could just buy from any of the retailers based here.

You can find all this information on the Airsoft forum on here
