Guys, what are the chances of VW honouring the 12 year anti corrosion warranty ? (Not to optimistic being honest on doing some reading !)

Would it be a case of 'depends on the VW dealer' over another ?

I ask, as as rust is appearing on both front doors on a 9 year old CC. Original paint and panels, never damaged etc.

The issue was subject to a service bulletin in the US as per link :

Pic attached is similar to my issues VWVortex.com

Worth a shot or pi$$ing against the breeze, in your opinion ?
Any Dublin Dealer worth trying ?

    TIA.

That's definitely worth following up, looks like it's only that start on more and more rust.

Best call into them and be firm with a copy of the 12 year warranty

The problems you face are that just because there was a bulletin released in another market, it doesn't mean there was here, you will need a full history verifying the body inspection was carried out at every service and that not every dealer deals with bodywork, only a certain few do, they will likely take paint thickness readings etc to verify no previous repairs were done.

Have you had the car from new? Has it a fill history?

That's a slightly different scenario though is it as the corrosion was caused as a side effect of a mechanical defect which is only covered for 3 years or whatever and not by poor anti corrosion protection?
