    If you are into gaming, you can trade it for psn credit or Xbox store credit

    I assume you are on prepay. Defer your monthly top up and use your credit instead - all calls and data will be charged at out of bundle rates.
    Before your credit expires, top up.

    You must top up within 6 months, otherwise you lose your number
