Can I work while chenging my visa from staml 1 to stamp 4?

I am a Non-Eu person holding stamp 1 in Ireland. I have GNIB card, and a full time job. My partener is Irish, we want to get married soon and change my visa to stamp 4. But we are wondering while my visa is being procceded, will I be allowed to work? Thanks!
