    Hi,

My exhaust has become very loud since this afternoon. After checking the whole exhaust is ioose and easily swings from side to side.

Guessing it is going to have to be replaced. Has anyone an idea of what I should expect to pay for it? Based in South Dublin, Car is an 05 Corolla.

    Thanks,

    PHG

if its broken at a flexy it might just need renewing but depends whats gone weldable or replacement you wont know until its up on a ramp.

As it's a 05 corolla is imagine it'll just need to be welded. The exhaust doesn't normally corrode too much.

Any garage or exhaust shop should be able to sort it while you wait.

I once had an exhaust that needed a weld, as a short term solution, a piece of pipe was welded on around the crack.

That short term solution lasted for years.

Get your car up on a lift, a weld might be all you need., but it's hard to tell when all four tyres are on the ground.

They are prone to rusting and breaking just after the flange that took a the mid section to the back box. If that's the case all you'll need is the back box replaced. Around €200 supplied and fitted would be decent.

    Thanks for the replies, appreciated.

Toyotafanboi got it. Back box broken, snapped and hole in it.

€220 for repair in a garage in Dun Laoghaire.
