Please reduce oil level - Audi A4

Just had Audi’s major service on my b8 a4 2015 Tdi. Oil indicator in MMI now says “please reduce oil level “
Message does not appear on dash as a stand-alone message. Only under car settings in mmi. I have tried to reset oil level myself by opening bonnet and unscrewing and cleaning oil filler cap. It calibrated as normal for a while then same thing occurred. Is this something to worry about ? Appears to be a small variance only.

Incidentally it Happened last service with Audi too but I said it to them at the time. They said it was sensor calibrating new oil and they’re very sensitive. I insisted they reduce oil. They took about half it back out. So I had to make them refill again. Bit ridiculous really but I digress.

Take car back and have them fix it. You don't pay 450 for them to make a mistake.

It's way overfilled In my opinion if that is coming up.
I'd take it back to them. Now I realise it's likely you don't have a dipstick but dealer should have one that they use in servicing your car.
Get them to check the level with the dipstick there and then.

Hmm. I was hoping it was only a fraction given that once I reset the system by opening bonnet oil level was spot on for a while. Is it likely to do much damage ? Audi said last time as long as it’s not coming up on dash it’s ok but then the message is clearly there for a reason. Anyway any thoughts on potential damage would be good. They won’t be open till next week now.

Can you get a dip-stick from audi for the b8.5 2l tdi? Electroic measurement is a handy ref but it is crazy not having a mechanical gauge.
